What it means when you sign
This article says how electronic evidence is presented in court. It is produced in its original format or by any other electronic means. The court may also ask for its content to be produced in writing, as long as the nature of the evidence allows that.
It is a procedural rule. It does not decide whether an electronic record is valid or how much weight it carries. It only governs the form in which a record is put before the court and gives the court the option to ask for a written version where that is possible.
When you are about to sign a contract that will be concluded, notified or recorded electronically, this article means the electronic record can be brought to court in its original form or through other electronic means. A party that keeps its electronic files, messages and records in a form that can be produced may find this article relevant if a dispute arises. A clause about how records are stored or exchanged connects with it, because the court may ask for a written version of content whose nature permits that.
Not yet cited in a Fahm report; shown because it sits in the same chapter as one that is.
