What it means when you sign
This article separates an offer from an invitation to contract. Offering goods or services together with a statement of the price or other consideration is treated as an offer, unless there are signs to the contrary. Publications, advertisements, statements of current prices and any other statement about offers or requests, whether addressed to the public or to individuals, are not treated as an offer in case of doubt. They are an invitation to contract.
When you are about to sign, this article means a brochure, a price list or an advertisement does not by itself bind the seller to sell on those terms. Only an offer, that is, a proposal with its price, can be accepted to form a contract. A clause stating that quotes, brochures or proposals are not binding fits this article. It also means that the point where a document becomes an actual offer, and not just an invitation, can matter when a deal is disputed.
Not yet cited in a Fahm report; shown because it sits in the same chapter as one that is.
