What it means when you sign

This article deals with contracts made by automated systems. A contract may be made between automated electronic mediums that include one or more electronic information systems prepared and programmed in advance for that purpose. Such a contract is valid, enforceable and legally effective even if no natural person personally or directly intervenes in making it in those systems.

A contract may also be made between an automated electronic information system belonging to one person and another person, if the other person knows, or is supposed to know, that the system will make or execute the contract automatically.

When you are about to sign or accept terms on a platform that processes orders automatically, this article means a contract can be formed by the system without a person reviewing it, and it can still bind. A party that knows, or is supposed to know, that a system handles the contract automatically may be bound by what the system does. A clause that denies the effect of automated acceptance, orders or confirmations may run into this article.
